Vision Statement

Vision Statement:to create a community around food - local and organic when available, high quality and interesting always. We will start in 2011 growing fruits and vegetables organically for a weekly pickup from June through Oct. In 2012 we will stretch the season to mid-May through mid-November. We will strive to provide at least a $20 value for each week's pickup, probably not your full week's budget for fruits and vegetables but a diverse selection of items. At all times we will seek out interesting (heirloom if available) varieties of exceptional taste to grow.

  Is this a CSA? Kind of but not really....we invision a cooperative group who cares about food, wants access to better food, be that in terms of freshness and/or quality of production and wants to create a food system that is consistent with their values right here in our own neighborhood. We seek people willing to engage in this food community (be it getting dirty in the vegetable garden, scouting out terrific bulk buying opportunities or sharing a favorite recipe), but most importantly we seek people who love food and will take the time to communicate what they like and what they'd like to see grown locally.

   Right now, we're looking for people in our local area (Seacoast of NH & ME) willing to invest financially by purchasing a share which will not only help support your local farmer but will also provide you the shareholder with approximately $20.00 worth of fresh, local produce each week for the said growing season. We figure we can provide 20 'shares' in 2010......but beyond growing exciting vegetables that our co-op members like, we think there is a whole world of possibilities out there for this 'fresh food cooperative' e.g. buying a butchered cow or pig together, partnering with someone with fresh eggs, inviting a talented fungus forager to join the group, getting a great olive oil in bulk. Let's get together and talk and see how we can make eating well with local ingredients happen in our lives.
